Website Speed Audit Kit

Sell $99 branded speed audits — the API behind them is free

White-label speed reporting is locked behind $99+/month — DebugBear's cheapest tier with whitelabel exports is $99, every single month. The data underneath is free: Google's PageSpeed Insights API costs nothing. What agencies actually sell is the deliverable — a branded report a client approves. This kit is that deliverable layer: one Python command turns any URL into a white-label audit report, plus the fix playbook and sales scripts to charge $99–299 for it. ฿990 once — about a third of one month of the SaaS — then nothing.

What's inside the kit

10 files in one zip — Python 3, standard library only. Nothing to install, no account, no subscription.

One command

audit-report-generator.py

Point it at any URL with your free PageSpeed API key: it pulls Lighthouse lab scores, Core Web Vitals and prioritized issues, and fills a branded HTML report — print-ready A4, your client's name, your brand. An optional --crux flag adds real-user field data.

White-label

report-template.html

The report shell the script fills — your logo, your colors, your client's name on every page. No "generated by" badge, no vendor branding: the audit goes out under your agency's name — exactly what the $99/mo SaaS paywalls.

By platform

45-fix playbook

Every fix ref in the report maps to a numbered fix: 16 universal, 12 WordPress, 6 Shopify, 5 static/JAMstack, plus LCP and CLS deep-dives — each with effort (quick win → multi-day) and impact, so your fix quote writes itself.

Sales scripts + price ladder

How to find prospects, what to say — and the $99 / $149 / $299 ladder, plus the $49/mo re-audit retainer that a re-run of the generator turns into a 2-minute job. Scripts in English, German and Spanish.

Field data

CrUX real-user metrics

--crux adds p75 field data from real Chrome visitors — the numbers Google's ranking systems actually use. For low-traffic sites the report prints an honest "not enough traffic yet" note instead of inventing numbers.

14 days

PLAYBOOK-14D + license

A day-by-day plan from download to your first paid audit, with "done when" gates — plus the single-agency commercial license: unlimited clients, white-label delivery explicitly allowed.

The honest part: it's a deliverable, not a dashboard

Not a monitoring platform. No scheduled scans, no alerts, no dashboards — one command, one report. That's the shape agencies resell anyway; you're not paying for a browser farm you never use.

Lab scores swing ±5 points between Lighthouse runs (simulated device). The kit's docs say so up front and coach you to report trends, not single-run decimals.

You need a free API key. The keyless PSI pool is shared with the entire internet and strangers drain it daily — the 2-minute personal key (free, from Google) fixes it, and the script's error messages coach you straight to it.

Field data needs traffic. CrUX only covers sites with enough Chrome visitors; the report says so honestly instead of making numbers up.

From download to paid audit in three steps

No monthly seat, no onboarding call — the kit is files that run on your machine.

Run the audit

python3 audit-report-generator.py https://client.com --psi-key YOUR_KEY — about a minute per URL; the data comes from Google's free PageSpeed Insights API.

Brand the report

Pass --client-name and --notes; the white-label template does the rest. Attach it to an email or print it to PDF — A4, print-ready.

Sell it — and what comes next

The sales scripts price the audit at $99–299 and map every fix ref into a scoped fix quote. Run the same command again next month: that's your $49/mo retainer.

Who the kit is for

Fewer than half of mobile sites pass Core Web Vitals (Web Almanac 2024) — and INP joined the vitals in March 2024, demoting thousands more. Every one of those sites is an audit prospect.

Agencies paying for white-label reporting

DebugBear Startup is $99/mo just to put your logo on reports; GTmetrix hides white-label PDFs behind enterprise quotes. ฿990 once ≈ a third of a single month — and you own the deliverable.

Freelancers productizing audits

PSI screenshots look amateur. Turn "I'll take a look at your speed" into a productized $99 offer with a branded deliverable — without a monthly tool bill.

WordPress & Shopify maintainers

Every "the site got slow" complaint becomes a branded audit plus an effort-priced fix quote from the playbook — scoped in minutes, not estimated for days.

Consultants in DE / ES markets

Competitor sales material is English-only. Sales scripts, buyer docs and report notes in German and Spanish — native, not machine-translated.

One price. You own the reports.

No monthly seat, no per-report quota, no subscription.

Frequently asked questions

What does the license cover?

A single-agency commercial license: one agency or freelancer can run unlimited audits for unlimited clients, and white-label client delivery — reports under your own brand — is explicitly allowed. Redistributing or reselling the kit files themselves is not: each colleague or agency needs their own license. Every report you generate belongs to you.

Do I get updates?

Yes — every v1.x update is free: if Google changes the PSI API response shape, the extractor gets patched and you re-download. Re-download any time from your download page with your email and password. If a v2.0 ever ships, existing buyers get a clear upgrade path — never a surprise paywall.

What is the refund policy?

If the kit doesn't fit how you work, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full — the zip is yours to keep or delete. One refund per purchase; we only ask for optional feedback.

Do I need a PageSpeed API key?

Yes — a free one from Google, and it takes about two minutes to create. The script also runs keyless, but the keyless pool is shared with the whole internet and is drained most days (you'll get a cleanly explained 429 instead of a crash — the error message coaches you to the free key). The optional CrUX field-data key is free too.

Which Python version do I need?

Python 3 — that's it. The generator uses only the standard library: no pip installs, no virtualenv, no dependencies that rot. It runs on macOS, Linux and Windows, and a --from-json mode re-renders a saved audit without calling the API again.
